University of Greenwich inductions

Please find some of the volunteering opportunities you may interested in if you would like to volunteer during student inductions:

1. International Orientation Information Assistants

Are you an international or home student? Would you like to welcome new international students to the University of Greenwich and the UK?

The Office of Student Affairs are looking for volunteers to support the international orientation at the university on the 15 and 16 September from 9.30am-4.30pm:

- To help out either on both days or just for one day

- To welcome students to the university

- Direct students to workshops

- To help with signage at the orientation

- Help with lunch

- Provide an opportunity to talk to students about the University of Greenwich student experience

 You need to be: 

- Confident in your surroundings at the University of Greenwich

- Confident in being able to guide and talk to new students

- Be reliable and responsible

 

2. New Arrivals Information Assistants - Voluntary

Would you like to support the Office of Student Affairs with New Arrivals week from the 19 September to the 23 September? Would you like to get involved with supporting your university and feel part of orientation?

We are looking for student volunteers to welcome new arrivals and to support them with their enquiries.

You will also be supporting and guiding their families too with any queries they may have.

You will be working on an information stall from 11am-3pm in the Queen Mary Building and will be working in pairs.

You will receive a lunch voucher for your time.

You need to know your surroundings at the university and to have general knowledge on the university on areas such as accommodation, GET services, finance, support offices, the Student Union and what is happening during the first week.

 

3. Campus Information Assistants needed

Would you like to help out at New Arrivals Week on the 19th and 20th September?

The Office of Student Affairs are looking for Campus Information Assistants to work on these days from 9am to 12pm:

2 volunteers needed at West Gate

2 volunteers needed at East Gate

2 volunteers needed outside the Dreadnought Library

2 volunteers needed outside the King William Building

2 volunteers needed outside the Queen Mary Building

You will need to have good knowledge of the university such as knowing where the other buildings are, where registration is going on, what's going on during new arrivals week, campus bus information and local transport information.

You will need to attend a training session on the 14 September from 11am - 12.30pm in the GET Office. Lunch will be provided.
